Explore the Dutch North at Suyderoogh!

Suyderoogh is situated at Lake Lauwer, in the centre of the Lauwersmeer National Park which is well-known for its rich wildlife. Ornithologists from all over the world go there to look at rare species of birds.
The park is near Lauwersoog’s Harbour. There is a daily Ferry service from this harbour to the Island of Schiermonnikoog.
The park consists of beautiful country cottages and has many facilities, such as a swimming pool and all-weather tennis courts. People can also participate in all kinds of water sports, directly on the park as well as in the surrounding areas.

Besides these sporting activities there are lots of other things to do.
Old cities like Dokkum and Groningen are quite close to the park and due to their historical value real must-sees.

Furthermore you should visit at least one of the many museums that this region in The Netherlands has to offer. The Museum of Tea if you want to know all about the origin of this every-day drink or the Museum of Modern Art in Groningen, when you are interested in a variety of artistic expression.
Nearby the park is also an asylum for weakened and injured seals. They are nursed and brought back to health there and it is really great to take a look up close.

Giving you a list of all the things you could possibly do here would be very easy, but that would be too much to mention and of course it is much better to just come here and find out…..

Explore the North and discover it yourself!
